Richard Sosinsky, Assistant Principal Bass
Richard Sosinsky (double bass) is active as a teacher, chamber musician and orchestral bass player. He has performed with Newband (custodians of the Harry Partch collection of instruments), at the Gurdjieff Institute and with Washington Square Chamber Music Society. He performs music of the Jewish diaspora with his award-winning quintet, Big Galut(e). As an orchestral player he is Principal of Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra, Assistant Principal of Riverside Symphony, Assistant Principal of Hudson Valley Philharmonic and is a member of the American Composers Orchestra. He performs with American Ballet Theater Orchestra, Allentown Symphony, Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony and New York City Opera Orchestra, among others. Mr. Sosinsky holds degrees from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and The Juilliard School.
