Daniel Spitzer, Principal Clarinet

Daniel Spitzer has been a leading performer for several decades in recital and symphonic, ballet, and opera settings. Since 2006, Daniel has been a member of the Delaware Symphony and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, with whom he serves as Principal Clarinet. In 2013, he joined the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestral. At the Chautauqua Institution he was honored to perform as a soloist, playing Artie Shaw’s Clarinet Concerto, He is a regular Substitute with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New Jersey Symphony and has performed numerous times with the New York Philharmonic, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the NYC Ballet Orchestra, and the American Symphony Orchestra. In November 2018 Daniel toured Cuba, performing concerts with the Quintet of the Americas in Havana. He has appeared on the Broadway shows Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserable, On the Town, The Music Man, The King and I, Mary Poppins, and numerous others.
